Android pioneering flat UI pre iOS7 and the end of skeumorphism
Designed the UI to fit the visual language of both the Android OS and the WeatherPro identity, which set the ground for the upcoming iOS7 flat interface and a consistent app identity across all platforms.

Problem
In the early days of mobile UI, skeuomorphic 3D design dominated—while Android was already pushing toward a flatter, more modern approach.
Solution
When MeteoGroup prepared the Android version of WeatherPro, I led the shift from a 3D-heavy, skeuomorphic design language to a clean, platform-native 2D experience. By aligning the interface with Android’s emerging design principles, I ensured a consistent, modern experience across devices.

Remember the first generation of smartphones—small, chunky, and heavy?
Even as screen sizes stayed compact, rising screen resolutions unlocked a surge of pixel density, creating entirely new space for richer, more detailed interfaces.

Enter Android Widgets…
Long before iOS introduced them, Android offered lockscreen widgets with flexible sizes and rich data density. I designed a set of WeatherPro widgets that were intentionally theme-neutral, allowing them to seamlessly adapt to users’ custom lockscreen backgrounds.
